Another one bites the televised dust. Just a few days after NBC announced it was pulling the plug on the very sexy but very critically panned The Playboy Club, it’s slated another of its brand new 2011 series for the chopping block: Free Agents.
The show, which is a remake of a British comedy, only nabbed 3.3 million viewers in its time slot. Yesterday, star Hank Azaria Tweeted:
“Okay, it’s do or die time for my show Free Agents — we need eyeballs tonight at 8:30 on NBC!! Watch tonight or we may go away… It’s smart and funny and on NBC Wednesdays at 8:30!! Free Agents, that is…Hey kids, please watch Free Agents this Wednesday at 8:30. I fear it may be your last chance!!”
Unfortunately, it was the last chance, as the network has decided to cancel the show after just four episodes.
Guess the show’s stars really are free agents now. Good news is that Azaria can relax in the gorgeous Pacific Palisades house he just bought from Dan Castellaneta (“The Simpsons”).
