You'd think that by now people would realize that "Naomi Cambpell's personal assistant" is only one or two rungs on the career ladder above "human toilet" and "mousetrap tester". And you'd think that by now these assistants would realize that when Naomi is angry and holding a communication device, they should duck and cover. You'd think.
PageSix.com reports that Naomi's latest beatdown was issued at a hotel in Brazil, where the Zen-free supermodel attacked her latest assistant, slapping her with one hand and beating her with a BlackBerry held in the other. Pretty impressive–in the past, Naomi only struck out with cell phone in hand, leaving the other hand hanging useless and wasted. (We're suddenly struck with the mental image of Naomi in a past life, beating the tar out of her underlings with an abacus.)
When the assistant threatened to tell the police about the incident, Campbell reportedly hissed, "If you go to the police, you're gonna have to pay for your airfare home and I'm gonna whack you with this big hotel bill." The assistant is still traveling in South America with Campbell (and having a grand time, to be sure), but wants to quit as soon as they return to the states.
Naomi's rep, Rob Shuter, has denied the claims, saying "I have been working with Naomi Campbell for several months and traveled extensively with her. Naomi has always treated me with great respect. I can tell you as a fact that this ugly rumor is not true." Months? Oh ho ho. Mr. Shuter, have a seat. You have lots to catch up on, dear.
