Best Female Video: Lady Gaga for “Born This Way,” directed by Nick Knight and Haus of Gaga. LG won out over Adele, Beyoncé, Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj.
Best Male Video: Justin Bieber for “U Smile,” directed by Colin Tilley. Bieber’s award came at the expense of Bruno Mars, Cee Lo Green, Eminem and Kanye West.
Best New Artist: Tyler, the Creator, succeeded for “Yonkers,” ahead of Big Sean, Foster the People, Kreayshawn and Wiz Khalifa.
Best Collaboration: Katy Perry and Kanye West, “E.T.”
Best Hip-Hop Video: Nicki MInaj, “Super Bass”
Best Rock Video: Foo Fighters, “Walk”
Best Pop Video: Britney Spears, “Till the World Ends”
