With Al Pacino busy receiving his Jaeger leCoultre Award, the red carpet hosted the all-star cast of Colin Firth, Gary Oldman, Mark Strong and John Hurt in support of their Cold War era film “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy,” based on the novel by John Le Carre, and slated for release in the US on December 9, 2011. Oldman has a killer year, appearing in six 2011 listed releases and filming “The Dark Knight Rises” with Chris Nolan, and walked the red carpet with fourth wife, Alexandra Edenborough. Twice Oscar-nominated John Hurt also brought his fourth wife, while Colin Firth brought Livia Giuggioli and Mark Strong posed with Liza Marshall.
Feting strange and romantic material are Selma Blair and director Todd Solondz, in Venice to promote “Dark Horse.” While Blair walked the red carpet for the first time since having her recent child, “Dark Horse” is sure to find further favor with photographers should another of its co-stars, Justin Bartha, decide to walk up-coming red carpets with his rumored romance, Scarlett Johansson.
