When you think of Mischa Barton a few things probably come to mind. Drugs. Hideous ’80s redux clothes. Pendulous ball sacs. And, obviously, extremely well-crafted acting skills. OK, maybe that last one’s a stretch, but according to sources on Mischa’s new show, The Beautiful Life, she’s a regular Laurence Olivier compared to Elle Macpherson. According to The New York Daily News:
Elle Macpherson, the Aussie supermodel and former Sports Illustrated cover girl, is helping take the heat off Barton and her much-publicized breakdown last month.
According to an on-set source, producers of “The Beautiful Life” series on CW aren’t worried about Barton’s antics or her nearly two-week stint in rehab. It’s Macpherson’s lack of acting chops that has them worried.
“In comparison, Mischa is a dream come true for producers because she has experience” with three seasons of “The ‘O.C.,” says the source, who adds: “The real problem with ‘The Beautiful Life’ is definitely the acting now, not Mischa’s emotional state.”
Continues the insider, “All the models need to be taught how to act, but the main focus is Elle, because she has one of the biggest roles.”

Somewhere out there in the programming staff of the CW is a man wishes to Christ he had better sense than picking this potential pile of Tidy and asking why did he pass up that Sweeet comedy pilot of urban gangbangers with MIA’s ‘Paper Planes’ pumping like a kiddie song in Playland. In this same place is another man cleaning his gun, making ready to make his move because the rocket scientist who greenlit the potential pile of Tidy owes him a shitload of money and the news he’s getting ain’t giving him much confidence or patience.
I tell ya, this will end with a gunshot, probably several if things get real interesting. We can hope it doesn’t, but I wouldn’t put much faith in it.
