Matt Damon is heading behind the camera. The actor will be making his directorial debut in an upcoming film called “A Foreigner.” The film’s script was written by Chris Terrio and Damon will also star in the conspiracy thriller.
Interestingly enough, Terrio also wrote “Argo,” which was directed by Damon’s best friend Ben Affleck, who also starred in the film. The screenplay was based on a an article published in The New Yorker, which chronicled the real-life story of a man who was killed in Guatemala but left behind a videotape that implicated the president and first lady.
A synopsis for Damon’s upcoming project has yet to be released.
Steve Zaillian and Garrett Basch of Film Rites will be producing “A Foreigner” alongside Steven Rales of Indian Paintbrush, who is also financing the project.
