Mark Wahlberg Sparks Controversy With Bold 9/11 Claim in Men’s Journal

Mark Wahlberg in Men's Journal

Mark Wahlberg has had some ‘splaining to do after making bold statements about 9/11 in the February 2012 issue of Men’s Journal. The actor was scheduled to be on one of the planes that crashed into the World Trade Center, but didn’t make the flight.

“If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did,” he said. “There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.’”

Unfortunately, his comments didn’t go over so well with the family members of those who perished in the 9/11 attacks. Wahlberg later retracted his statements via TMZ, saying, “To speculate about such a situation is ridiculous to begin with. I deeply apologize to the families of the victims that my answer came off as insensitive, it was certainly not my intention.”

In 2006, Mark Wahlberg admitted that he thought a lot about 9/11 and what he would have done had he made that flight, saying, “I’ve had probably over 50 dreams about it.” What do you think about Wahlberg’s statements?

my buddy’s mom makes $83 every hour on the laptop. She has been out of a job for 7 months but last month her paycheck was $9029 just working on the laptop for a few hours. Read more on this web site… LazyCash10.com

Wow, Mark Wahlberg is in some great films, but that was an insanely stupid thing to say about 911.

Hopefully the whole thing blows over though.

It’s pretty insensitive about commenting on an issue like 9/11. Mark should not have made those rash comments. It is definitely hurting for those who lost their near ones on that day. It is good that he realized his mistake and apologized. I hope that in future he will think twice before opening his mouth.
