Madonna will be releasing new music next year: the Material Girl has just inked a three-album deal with Universal Music Group. The agreement has a base pay of $1 million per album; a source told the New York Post that Madonna’s deal is “just about keeping relevance so that she can tour.”
Madonna hasn’t had a new album out for almost five years, but her “Sticky & Sweet” tour broke several records in 2008 and 2009, and she’s confirmed to perform at Super Bowl XLVI.
One artist who isn’t shouting from the rooftops in glee about Madonna’s deal with Universal Music Group is labelmate 50 Cent. Earlier this week, the rapper, who just worked on a single called “Girls Gone Wild,” tweeted the following:
These people are gonna make kill one of them. Now madonna’s single is calledGIRLS GONE WILD. This is some bull sh*t #SK
