Less than 48 hours after the senseless and tragic mass shooting occurred during the midnight showing of “The Dark Knight Rises,” Madonna took the stage in Scotland and had a pistol-wielding, machine-gun-toting good time. While she drew obvious criticism from Mothers Against Guns, she still stands behind her decision.
A member of the “Express Yourself” singer’s tour staff told The Huffington Post, “Madonna would rather cancel her show than censor her art. Her entire career, she has fought against people telling her what she can and cannot do. She’s not about to start listening to them now.”
Madonna has not been pulling any punches with her controversy-driven MDNA tour. She’s flashed her baby-feeders, adorned political faces with swastikas and made not-so-subtle digs at Lady Gaga. This time, has the singer gone too far, or is it all acceptable in the name of art?
