Lou Ferrigno recently donated the $50,000 he won from “The Celebrity Apprentice” to Abbey Umali, a child suffering from muscular dystrophy.
“I’m giving $50,000 that I won from my charity to Abbey,” he said on the show. “Close to birth… I lost like 80 percent of my hearing and I had difficulty speaking. It had always been a challenge for me, but as a kid when I was growing up, you never wanted to feel sorry for yourself, ever.”
Ferrigno said that hearing Umali’s story made him recall his own childhood and moved him to help in any way possible.
Lou Ferrigno competed on “The Celebrity Apprentice” on behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. This particular episode is set to air this weekend.
