“Mirror Mirror” actress Lily Collins has the cover of the Nylon March 2012 issue, and in her interview, she discussed her celebrity heritage (her father is Phil Collins), women in Hollywood and her career thus far.
Collins is careful to note that her last name isn’t the sole reason she’s landed acting roles. “A lot of people’s perception is that I don’t have to work my way to get in a room because someone’s always interested in the last name, but I always say that personality opens doors, but character keeps them open,” she said. “Everyone can have something special to get them in, but once you’re in, it’s sort of like, “Okay, so?”
Collins also said that you won’t see her going the route of Mischa Barton or Lindsay Lohan, whose partying lifestyles hampered their career growth: “I never did do the whole drinking, drugs [thing]. That wasn’t ever me and is never gonna be me.”
