Leonardo DiCaprio is officially a startup investor. The “Inception” actor is one of the many high-profile names in the $4 million seed round for social media startup Mobli. “Mobli allows people from all over the world to share moments,” said DiCaprio.
Mobli leverages the Foursquare API to automatically tag photos and videos captured with the app; users can also add tags manually. DiCaprio will have an advisory position at Mobli, according to Mashable. Mobli’s other high-profile users include David Arquette and Paris Hilton.
Other celebrities who’ve invested in a startup include Demi Moore, whose company of choice is baby food maker HappyFamily; Ashton Kutcher, who has invested in Popchips; Gisele Bundchen, who backs Zico coconut water; and Madonna, who’s contributed to the coffers of Vita Coco.
