Lady Gaga has a surprising new collaborator. The singer recently announced plans to release an album with crooner Tony Bennett. The pair gave a surprise performance just days ago at Barack Obama‘s Inaugural Ball, performing two of Gaga’s hits — “Born This Way” and “You and I.” Gaga confirmed the album plans on Twitter.
“And here’s me and my handsome date, I simply cannot wait for our album together, he’s my darling!” she wrote, adding a photo of them performing together.
Gaga and Bennett have recorded together once before. She teamed up with him for a duet version of “The Lady is a Tramp” for his 2011 album, Duets II.
“She’s the biggest. I’ll tell you, I never met anyone with more talent than that lady,” Bennett said of their previous collaboration.
The collaborative album will be jazz; there is no word yet on an expected release date. Gaga is also gearing up to release her third studio album, ARTPOP, which will be released this spring.
