Kristen Stewart has landed an endorsement deal with Balenciaga as the face of its newest fragrance, Florabotanica.
To celebrate the partnership, Stewart participated in a live chat with fans from all around the world. Over 5,000 questions were submitted and the interviewer chose just 10 of them to ask. The event was supposed to last 30 minutes but ended up lasting only 15.
Although Stewart has worked in Hollywood since she was a child, her foray into the world of fashion is very new. As she explained, “I started so young having to have a sort of relationship with fashion. You walk down the carpet, [and] it matters — it’s strange. At first, I just wanted to get it right, I wanted to have sort of smooth sailing, and just be able to do my job, but that was another side of it — fashion. [Now] I think somebody who cares about it, somebody who’s interested in it, it can bring things out of you that you wouldn’t expect and … not to play characters necessarily, but just to like unlock yourself and discover yourself.”
As for Balenciaga’s Florabotanica, Stewart said, “Luckily, I like the smell of the fragrance, so I don’t have to lie about that, and that’s great!” She continued, “In this [fragrance], there’s a fearlessness to it … it’s definitely not to be denied.”
