And you thought Charlie Sheen’s short speech at the Emmy Awards was weird.
Kim Delaney, star of the wildly successful Lifetime show Army Wives, was actually escorted off the stage last night after giving a stilted, slurred speech at the National Constitution Center.
She was presenting the Liberty Medal Award to former Defense Secretary Robert Gates, and muttered, in part:
“As I try to comfort wives, husbands, families, fathers, children… loved ones… made good… what I’ve learned is the Constitution Center.”
A voiceover began playing before Kim had a chance to finish, and an employee wearing a headset appeared to help the actress off the stage.
Kim has struggled with alcohol addiction before, entering rehab in 2003. Let’s hope the star was just having teleprompter issues this time.
Get well, Kim!
