Kevin Hart‘s latest comedy has been picked up by ABC. The project is a half-hour comedy based on Hart’s stand-up act.
The new sitcom will center around a divorced couple who is attempting to stay friends to appear as a united front to their kids. Hart will not star as the main character, will will likely appear as a recurring guest star.
It was pretty easy for Hart to get the pilot commitment from ABC, since his is one of the most successful comedians in the business today. Hart is currently one of the most sought after stand-ups and has a unique ability to connect with his fans (he has 9 million Twitter followers).
Hart’s last television effort was “Real Husbands of Hollywood” on BET. The show is a spoof of “The Real Housewives” series and follows Hollywood husbands like himself, Robin Thicke and Nick Cannon, who all play fictionalized versions of themselves.
