“People think I sit around and drink whiskey all day, but I couldn’t keep up on a three-month tour if I were getting hammered every night,” she said. “My show is very energetic—I dance and sing at the same time and run around. Training for a tour is like training for a marathon.”
The singer also says that courage comes naturally to her, which allows her to make sure people don’t get in the way of her dreams.
“I’m a white girl from Nashville who—kind of—raps. It’s weird, but I’ve always believed I was put here to do what I’m doing. I’ve had to endure so many people telling me, ‘No, you can’t do that,’ ‘No, you’re not pretty enough,’ ‘No, you’re not skinny enough,’ and I just had to be like, ‘You’re not stopping me. Get out of my way.’ Some of that comes from my mom, but I also think I was born with balls.”
