Kate Middleton Picks Charity Patronages

Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has announced the charitable organizations that will benefit from her patronage and volunteer time. She’ll be a patron of Action on Addiction, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, The Art Room and the National Portrait Gallery.

A palace source indicated that Middleton chose these organizations out of “a few hundred” requests, adding, “She did her own research and chose these after approaches or because they reflected the areas she was already aware of, especially in the arts and outdoor activities.”

In addition to the four charity patronages above, the Duchess of Cambridge will also volunteer for the Scout Association, dedicating her time to cub scout packs and Beaver Scout Colonies, according to People. “She is a big hill-walker and does a lot of outdoor pursuits. So she might teach them how to pack a rucksack, how to put a tent up, cooking in a camp situation,” said Scouts Association spokesman Simon Carter. “All those sorts of things are skills she might pass on as she’s an adult who’s got some expertise in that area.”

She is a beautiful princess and I am so envious of her wardrobe and fashion sense. That’s good she is donating to charities instead of just being selfish with her money.
