St. James’s Palace released the following statement on the couple’s behalf. “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby. The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.”
As all eyes are on the Duke and Duchess, the couple plans on re-locating from their quaint cottage in Wales to a more secure location in Kensington Palace. They’ll be living in a four-story, 20-room flat in Apartment 1A. Another big change with the impending birth has to do with Prince Harry’s chances at the throne. With Prince William set to take over the throne, his first born, regardless of sex, will then be next in line for the throne.
Prince William and Middleton were married before a crowd of adoring supporters on April 29, 2011 and have been said to have wanted to become parents from the start. No word yet on the sex of the baby or when he or she is expected to arrive, but there’s little doubt that the royal couple has been given the greatest Christmas gift they could have wished for.
