Justin Timberlake is the latest celebrity to become the creative director for a popular brand. The singer is joining forces with Bud Light Platinum. Timberlake’s first order of business is starring in a one-minute commercial, which will air during the Grammy Awards this Sunday.
The ad, called “Platinum Light,” will also feature Timberlake’s new single “Suit & Tie,” which he is also set to perform at the awards show.
“Bud Light Platinum brings a refined discerning aesthetic to beer that plays well with that I’m doing.” Timberlake said. “I’m looking forward to not only being part of the creative process, but I’m bringing other talented musicians to the forefront as well.”
The news comes just weeks after Timberlake announced his comeback to the music scene, with his upcoming album “The 20/20 Experience,” which is due out on March 19.
“Since launching Bud Light Platinum last year, we’ve worked to align the brand closely with music, including leveraging tracks by Kanye West and Avicii in our first ads,” said Paul Chibe, VP of US marketing for Anheuser-Busch, Bud’s parent company. “Partnering with Justin as he makes his return to music brings a new level of relevance and credibility to the brand.”
