Justin Timberlake hosted and served as musical guest on the latest episode of “Saturday Night Live.” His appearance brought the show its highest ratings in 14 months.
According to some preliminary numbers from Nielsen, the episode received a 5.9 rating and a 15 share. The last time SNL received those kinds of ratings was in January 2012 when Charles Barkley hosted.
During his hosting gig, Timberlake brought out old SNL favourites like Steve Martin, Martin Short, Chevy Chase, Alec Baldwin, Candice Bergen and Tom Hanks for an opening skit. Along with Andy Samberg, he brought back his “D*ck In a Box” character, transformed into Elton John and did his own version of the “Harlem Shake.” Timberlake also performed two songs, “Suit & Tie” and “Mirrors.”
Saturday night marked Timberlake’s fifth time hosting “SNL.” The final ratings will be released later this week.
