Time to spread a little holiday cheer: Justin Bieber cemented his squeaky-clean reputation on Dec. 17 with a $100,000 donation to Whitney Elementary. The Las Vegas school has a 70 percent homeless rate and was recently featured on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
Inspired by that episode, Bieber headed to the school to perform acoustic Christmas songs, hand over his donation and give away another $100,000 worth of holiday gifts to the students. The pop star wasn’t alone in his act of charity: Target also donated $100,000 during the event, which was filmed for DeGeneres’ talk show.
The donations will support a phenomenal cause. Whitney provides clothes to its 650 students, offers them discounted or free lunches, and even helps out with family bills, according to Ecorazzi.
“It was the best moment of my life,” said 17-year-old student Kiersten Umberger of the event and seeing Justin Bieber in person.
