What’s more amazing is how the band has managed to not only endure, but to refresh their image and popularity by recruiting a lead singer from Manila after seeing his clips on YouTube – well, from Bieber fever to Journey’s journey, YouTube sure has leveled the playing field.
Ramona S. Diaz‘s documentary highlighting the pleasure and pressures of Arnel Pineda, plucked from obscurity to the worlds’ biggest stadia, is an entertaining and truly euphoric find. Having first played the festival circuit, the film is now coming to theaters and VOD on March 8, so keep your eyes peeled and get ready to get your rock on.
The official word: “DON’T STOP BELIEVIN’: EVERYMAN’S JOURNEY” follows the real life rock ‘n’ roll fairy tale of Filipino Arnel Pineda, who was plucked from YouTube to become the front man for iconic American rock band Journey. In this Cinderella story for the ages, Arnel, having overcome a lifetime’s worth of hardships, must now navigate the immense pressures of replacing a legendary singer and leading a world-renowned band on their most extensive world tour in years.
