“Don Jon” centers around a New Jersey-born man who suddenly has to navigate between his love of pornography and his new love interest, played by Scarlett Johansson.
“Porn’s fine,” Levitt tells Men’s Health. “I’m aware that it can be hateful toward women. It can be addictive. It can get ugly. But it’s only damaging if you allow it to be.”
On his co-star, Levitt says Johansson’s sexiness goes beyond her looks.
“Look, Scarlett is a gorgeous, gorgeous woman, but if you just compare purely physical features, plenty of girls are just as gorgeous,” he said. “But she creates this extra something. It’s in her walk, her eye contact. The total package is just off the charts.”
In the film, Levitt’s bulked up for his starring role, saying he spent a lot of time eating and going to the gym.
“I put on about 12 pounds. You know I went to the gym every day for a couple hours for six months and I ate and ate and ate, I ate so much food. No fat, no sugar, no dairy, no bread.”
“Don Jon” hits theaters on September 27. See more of Levitt in the gallery below.
