Johnny Depp has one very important item he never leaves at home — his Captain Jack Sparrow costume from the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies. The actor he says he always makes sure to have his costume in his suitcase for visits to children’s hospitals.
“Sometimes you go to kiddie hospitals and things like that,” the actor said while promoting his newest movie “The Lone Ranger.” ”I’ll just sneak in and go and surprise a bunch of kiddies through the different wards…It basically turns into a two-, three-hour improvisation and it’s really fun. So I travel with Captain Jack.”
Depp won’t be doing the same with his Tonto costume from “The Lone Ranger,” but he says he did manage to snag the bird his character wears on his head.
“That bird going through customs is going to be weird, isn’t it?” Depp said. “I’ll just put a handle on top of it and it will be a handbag.”
“Pirates” producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, says the fifth instalment in the franchise should begin production in late 2013 or early 2014.
