A Whiskey Cask Casket? Johnny Depp Muses on His Funeral

Johnny Depp has already given some thought to his funeral one day, and it involves a whiskey cask casket from which mourners can actually drink.

“Maybe I could go in a whiskey cask and everyone can take a sip,” he told a German magazine. “Hunter [S. Thompson] always dreamed of a special way to go. He wanted to be fired from a self-made cannon. Brilliant! So I built a huge cannon after his death in 2005 and fired his ashes into the sky.”

Depp funded Thompson’s unusual funeral, so it’s no wonder that the late gonzo journalist’s ash-scattering ceremony inspired him to think about his own inevitable demise. But a casket made of a whisky cask?
