Joe Manganiello shows off his beach body in Men’s Health magazine. The actor opens up about struggling to succeed as an actor and talked about how he spent the money he made on his first season of “True Blood.”
Manganiello tells the magazine that he struggled with his career after appearing in “Spiderman” in 2002. He began smoking and drinking heavily while working odd jobs. When he snagged a recurring guest role on “True Blood,” he paid his outstanding bills and invested in his body.
“All the money I was paid as a guest star that year—which was not a lot, after I’d paid out my expenses—I spent on training,” Manganiello said.
The actor began working out twice a day for six days a week to ensure he was ready eight weeks later when it was time to take his shirt off in front of the camera.
