Jimmy Kimmel will host the next White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 28. The talk show host announced the gig with his signature sarcasm, saying, “I look forward to being a part of the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. I love dinner.”
Caren Bohan, the president of the WHCA and a Reuters journalist, said, “Jimmy’s humor is sophisticated and edgy while appealing to a wide audience. We are thrilled that Jimmy has accepted our invitation to be the featured comedian at our annual dinner.”
The dinner is historically a grand affair that is increasingly attended by A-list celebrities. Its proceeds recognize excellence in journalism and fund scholarships and other awards for up-and-coming journalists.
