Jewel has officially entered the ranks of celebrity children’s book authors with her upcoming tome and companion CD “That’s What I’d Do.” She joins fellow celebrities Jamie Lee Curtis, Madonna, Stephen Colbert and 50 Cent, who have all penned books geared towards their youngest fans.
“That’s What I’d Do” is inspired by a song Jewel wrote called “What I’d Do,” and hopes to teach children about musicianship. “I’m really excited for moms to get to sit down and read this to their babies because it’s really a devotion for lyrics,” she told People. “I hope all mothers get to feel that it’s a love letter to their kid. You can play the CD in your car or read the book at night before bedtime.”
The book will be released on Sept. 18 and is published by Simon and Schuster. Jewel describes it as “a love story to your child.”
