Jessica Simpson continues to build her successful empire. Her latest project will be a sitcom for NBC.
The network has ordered a pilot episode of a 30-minute show that Simpson is modeling after her own life. She explained, “I often find myself thinking that no one could ever make up the things that actually happen in my life — so between the real life elements and a great team of writers, I think we’ll have people laughing!”
Co-creator Ben Silverman praised the idea. “Jessica Simpson is truly a modern-day Lucy with incredible comedic chops. From running a fashion empire to wrangling her public image as a new mom, we see Jessica’s character approach a variety of ‘everyday’ circumstances that will get audiences laughing out loud.”
The expectant mother already has one series under her belt, which she also partnered with NBC on. Simpson is currently a judge on “Fashion Star.”
