Jay-Z is taking performance art to the next level. The rapper spent six hours yesterday performing his song “Picasso Baby” at Pace Gallery in New York.
During a Twitter Q&A Jay-Z held with his fans earlier this week, he revealed his new album “Magna Carta Holy Grail” would be accompanied by “6 pieces of art.” His art gallery performance seems to be the first of six, as he’ll be accumulating the footage from the performances to create a music video for the song.
Jay-Z invited a select group of people to watch him perform “Picasso Baby,” including Judd Apatow, Adam Driver and Lena Dunham‘s mom. The performance was actually supposed to be kept a secret, but the information was leaked online by attendees who posted pictures and videos of Hova performing at the art gallery.
