Jason Segel revealed during a recent interview that he has been working on a series of novels for young adults. According to reports, the actor has written three novels, which were based on a script he wrote when he was 21-years-old. He regretfully sold the script in question for a very small sum of money because he just “didn’t know any better.”
“As I got more successful, I kept hoping they wouldn’t realize I was the same Jason Segel and the Jason Segel they bought the script from,” he said. It turns out, the people who bought the script never put two-and-two together so Segel was able to buy the script back at the same price.
The “How I Met Your Mother” actor is staying pretty mum about his novel trilogy, not even giving interviewers a working title. All he would say is that the stories are “about kids facing their biggest fears, that’s about all I can tell you.”
Apparently, there is a “bidding war” going on for the novels between a few different publishing houses, but Segel says he expects the first in the series to be released this year.
