The 2012 Sundance Film Festival is getting greener, thanks to the Brita FilterForGood Music Project and its celebrity ambassadors Janelle Monae and Malin Akerman.
Brita FilterForGood will screen a documentary called “Music Sustains” to raise awareness for its Music Project, which helps make live shows more environmentally friendly by providing fans, backstage crew and talent reusable bottles filled with Brita-filtered water instead of individual bottles of water. Akerman will host the event at the Sundance Channel HQ; the short film will include an interview with Monae and Adam Gardner of Guster.
Monae isn’t the only musician to take part in the Brita FilterForGood Music Project. Other entertainers with sustainable touring practices include the Dave Matthews Band, U2, the Black Eyed Peas, Ben Harper, Lady Antebellum and Jack Johnson. What do you think of Brita’s attempts to make concerts and festivals like Sundance more eco-friendly?
