Those tabloid reporters should have looked outside of the A list to find some real early-career shockers like this one: Inside the Actors Studio host James Lipton was a motherfucking pimp! Sure, a classy French pimp, but a pimp nonetheless. MSNBC reports:
In an excerpt from James Liptonís new tome, ìInside Inside,î ContactMusic reveals the hyperbolic hostís surprising early career choice. Turns out it wasnít always about writing, acting and TV presenting for James.
ìThis was when I was very, very young, living in Paris, penniless, unable to get any kind of working permit,î James wrote. ìI had a friend who worked in what is called the Milieu, which is that world and she suggested to me one night, ëLook, you’ll be my meck…í We would translate it perhaps … as pimp.î
Just what did the ìInside the Actors Studioî host do to earn what he calls ìa rather good livingî as a pimp? Among other duties, he set up sex shows. ìI had to accompany my clientele to the Rue Pigalle, which is where these things occurred. And then I’d take them up to the room and I had to remain there because they were very nervous, they were young Americans for the most part … and they didn’t speak French.î Ooh la la.
