Fortunately for us, this is turning out to be one very long conversation. “How I Met Your Mother” is one of the most popular comedies on television and The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that CBS is looking to hold on to its ratings darling for a ninth season. This would take the show to the 2013-2014 season, where it would presumably end.
The studio is optimistic that the cast would be onboard with an early renewal to extend the show another year. Back in January, Jason Segel was quoted as saying, “I would like to see the show come to its natural end, whether it’s eight years or nine years.”
Regardless of the outcome, the show’s creators know how they will end the series and have admitted that each season they have a plan to tie things up if needed.
Another year with Barney Stinson, played to sheer brilliance by Neil Patrick Harris, sounds legen… wait for it… dary.
