“Parenthood” is now in its fourth season. The NBC family drama has never been a big ratings draw, but has had a steady audience that has helped parlayed its place on the network’s schedule.
This season has raised the stakes for the Braverman family in a big way. The introduction of an overtly cranky photographer, played by Ray Romano, has created a romantic crimp in the love life of Lauren Graham‘s character Sarah.
There’s also the reveal of Kristina Braverman’s battle with breast cancer that has the audience moved to tears. Watching the plight of the TV family and seeing their story unfold with such dignity and thoughtful writing, makes this perhaps one of the most underrated dramas currently on television. This is appointment television for the soul.
“Parenthood” airs on Tuesday evenings on NBC.
