Hayden Panettiere takes center stage in Esquire’s Funny* Joke(s) from a Beautiful Woman feature. In the January 2013 issue, the actress brings her best jokes forward.
Panettiere jokes, “A traveling salesman stops at the nearest farmhouse and asks if he can spend the night. The farmer says okay, and tells him he can go upstairs and sleep in the same room as his daughter. The salesman goes upstairs, and as he enters the daughter’s room notices another salesman in bed with her. ‘Sorry,’ he says. ‘I must be in the wrong joke.’”
The actress also opened up about her naughty new role on the television series “Nashville.” “I kept apologizing after my first scene with [costar] Connie [Britton], saying, ‘I don’t mean it!’ It’s fun. You get permission to be openly nasty and get away with it.”
