“Harry Potter” alumni Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson are close to inking deals to play two very famous characters. Radcliffe is in talks to play Igor in “Frankenstein” and Watson might be Disney’s next live-action princess in “Cinderella.”
Radcliffe is reportedly in final talks to play Dr. Frankenstein’s assistant, Igor. The film is being produced by 20th Century Fox and Davis Entertainment. Paul McGuigan is set to direct the film, which is to begin filming this fall.
Meanwhile, Watson might be getting ready to star in Disney’s revamp of “Cinderella.” The movie is being directed by Kenneth Branaugh and Cate Blanchett has already signed on to play the evil stepmother. The film would follow in the footsteps of other live-action princess fairy tales like “Snow White and the Huntsman” and “Maleficent,” which is based on “Sleeping Beauty.”
At this point, it seems everyone is just waiting on an answer from Watson, who seems perfect for the role. Both she and Radcliffe have a pretty good post-Potter track record already. Radcliffe stars in the upcoming “Kill Your Darlings,” which was a hit at Sundance and “The F Word.” Watson starred in last year’s “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” and is gearing up for the summer release of “Bling Ring.”
