Gwyneth Paltrow, “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane and designer Jason Wu have signed on for a late-night USA special called “Out of Character with Krista Smith.” The Jan. 11 special’s segments will show viewers a different side of the celebrities’ lives alongside Smith, who is the West Coast editor of Vanity Fair.
Paltrow will focus on family recipes from her cookbook in her portion of the USA special. Wu will give the camera a tour of his studio in Manhattan. And MacFarlane will talk about music and science.
“We’ve always talked about wanting to have a show or a presence on the network that is day and date — something that’s commenting on what’s going on and feels vibrant and of the moment, whether it’s a late night show or a daytime show,” said USA co-president Chris McCumber to The Hollywood Reporter.
Do you think “Out of Character with Krista Smith” will curry enough favor to merit additional episodes?
