Forget the awards, forget the fashion, this year’s Grammys was all about the music. With tons of performances that included tributes, newcomers, legends and musical comebacks, the Grammys provided something from every genre of music.
Miguel and Wiz Khalifa took the Grammys stage for a mini performance — something new to the Grammys. If you didn’t know who Miguel was before, you certainly will be able to recognize the crooner after last night’s performance. The duo performed Miguel’s hit song “Adorn,” and even got a nod from Kelly Clarkson during her acceptance speech.
Carrie Underwood belted out her hit songs “Blown Away” and “Two Black Cadillacs.” Her dress, which had digital images playing on it, was a bit distracting, but this country starlet never disappoints when she hits the Grammy stage.
Elton John joined Ed Sheeran to perform the Grammy newbie’s hit song, “A-Team.” Elton John is always amazing and Ed Sheeran is sure to win many Grammys in his future. Their performance was sweet and mellow, a nice change of pace from the usual awards show performances.
Bruno Mars was joined on stage by Sting, Rihanna, Ziggy Marley and Damian Marley to perform a tribute to Bob Marley. Together, they definitely brought some island flavor to the stage with this upbeat tribute that is sure to put a smile on your face.
Justin Timberlake returned to the Grammys stage after a four-year absence. Being the most-talked about performer of the night, JT performed his latest single “Suit & Tie” with Jay-Z and also performed a new song for his upcoming album called “Pusher Love Girl.”
