In the wake of Cory Monteith‘s death, “Glee” has pushed back production of season five and has delayed the season premiere. 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company made the announcement in a statement.
Production of “Glee” will now commence in August and the season five premiere has been pushed back by a week. There have no yet been any details about how the show is planning to address Monteith’s death.
Monteith starred on “Glee” as Finn Hudson since the show premiered in 2009. He was found dead in his Vancouver hotel room on July 13. Autopsy results revealed that Monteith died of a lethal mix of heroin and alcohol.
“Glee” is set to return to Fox on September 26 and 9pm.
