It’s not enough that he’s one of Hollywood’s sexiest leading men, but add to that the fact that he’s also charitable and wants to save the world and it’s no wonder this actor is so beloved. On August 19, George Clooney is auctioning off his 2008 Tesla “Signature 100″ Roadster at the Pebble Beach Auction. The estimated value of the sleek and sophisticated ride is between $100,000 and $125,000, and it has only 1,700 miles on it.
Gooding & Company president David Gooding highlighted the value of the vehicle by explaining what “an incredible opportunity to purchase a modern collector car with all the right elements: one-owner, celebrity provenance; historical significance; limited-edition rarity and philanthropic ties.”
The auction will benefit Satellite Sentinel Project, an important charity Clooney founded with activist partner John Prendergast. The goal of the project is to act as a watchman for “alleged atrocities” at the border between northern and southern Sudan. This isn’t the first time Clooney’s brought awareness to the plight of innocent civilians in Sudan. Back in March, the actor was arrested outside the Sudanese Embassy when he, along with his father, protested the country’s human rights abuses.
