Add Garcelle Beauvais to the lengthy list of celebrities with children’s books. The “Franklin & Bash” actress is working on a three-book series for kids called “I Am” that is centered on identity issues like divorce and mixed ethnicities.
The first book, “I Am Mixed,” will follow a brother and sister as they contend with their mixed racial identity. The second book will likely draw on Beauvais’ personal experience as a child of divorce and an adult who’s experienced divorce firsthand.
A statement released yesterday says that Garcelle Beauvais’ books are meant to “address identity issues relevant to many children today.” Do you think her words will resonate with modern kids?
