Florence + the Machine was forced to cancel several shows in Lisbon and Spain after frontwoman Florence Welch lost her voice.
“I’ve sustained a vocal injury and been told I cannot sing for a week,” wrote Welch on the band’s official website. “Seriously I felt something snap, it was very frightening. I am so so sorry. I’m so sorry to all the fans, I was desperate to still perform, but was told without question not to, so as not to do permanent damage.”
The band hasn’t announced whether they will make up the dates. If Welch’s golden voice heals quickly, Florence + the Machine is set to head to British Columbia for the North American leg of their tour on July 20. Get well soon, Florence!
