Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti, who last worked together in 2010 on “The Social Network,” are set to join creative forces once more for the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie. The trilogy of erotic books by E. L. James has been picked up by Universal Pictures and Focus Features for a movie adaptation.
“At its core, ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ is a complex love story, requiring a delicate and sophisticated hand to bring it to the big screen,” said Donna Langley, the co-chairman of Universal Pictures, in a statement. “Mike and Dana’s credits more than exemplify what we need in creative partners and we’re glad to have them as part of our team.”
De Luca’s film credits also include “Moneyball,” “American History X,” “Boogie Nights,” “Blow” and “Magnolia.” Brunetti’s include “21,” “Fanboys,” “Casino Jack” and “Beyond the Sea and Safe.”
