The executives behind “Family Guy” and the “The Simpsons” are planning a crossover episode for 2014. Rich Appel, a co-producer of “Family Guy” and former producer of “The Simpsons” revealed the news at Comic-Con.
“[The crossover is] gonna be the season premiere in a year, but it’s a super-sized episode – it may be an hour episode,” Appel said. ”We were thrilled – ['The Simpsons' voice actors] Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Hank Azaria, Yeardley Smith, Nancy Cartwright… they all play their parts.”
Appel added that the special will air as a “Family Guy” episode since it was mostly written by the show’s writers. And, viewers can expect “a 5-minute chicken fight between Peter and Homer!”
“The Simpsons” is also planning another crossover episode with “Futurama.”
