Entourage movie is in the works

A movie version of the HBO hit show “Entourage” is in the works. The film has gotten the green light from Warner Bros. “Entourage” aired for eight seasons, following the life of an up and coming actor and his life with his manager, brother and childhood best friend.

Creator of the series, Doug Ellin, has signed on to direct the movie. He has also written the screenplay. Deals with the show’s stars, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillion, Jerry Ferrara and Jeremy Piven, are all being drafted but none have confirmed their involvement. There is also no word yet if Mark Wahlberg, the show’s executive producer and inspiration, will be involved in the movie adaptation. However, he did tell MTV in 2010 that he would love to bring the “Entourage” characters back for a movie.

“I just think we can make a great movie. I think people always wanted [it] and have complained that the episodes are too short — they’ve always wanted more,” he said. “I think we’re going to do it. We just have to end strong.”

There is currently no start or release date for the film.
