“The Perks of Being a Wallflower” (the movie based on the novel) by Stephen Chbosky hits theaters this week. We caught up with the cast in our AFCI Beyond Cinema Studio presented by Celebs.com at the Toronto International Film Festival, including the amazingly talented Ezra Miller, Nina Dobrev, Mae Whitman and Johnny Simmons. Also on hand were producer Russell Smith and writer/director Steven Chbosky (all photographed by Scott McDermott).
Miller is following up a huge performance in “We Need to Talk About Kevin,” Dobrev can only expand on popularity garnered from “Degrassi” and “Vampire Diaries,” Whitman made headlines as a child star in “Independence Day” and more recently for “Parenthood,” and Simmons has been busy with “21 Jump Street,” “Scott Pilgrim” and “Jennifer’s Body.” The film highlights also how great it is to see Emma Watson beyond the role that made her famous. The film is first class. Check it out (great counter-programming if your other half is going to “End of Watch,” which also kicks butt).
