"You Shouldn't Jump To Conclusions, Sir."

What's a girl to do when the presumed father of the bump in her belly is traipsing around town with another woman and decrying the genius of DNA testing? Slather her face in rocky road ice cream, pop The Way We Were into the DVD player, and cry until it's time to give birth? Not when you're Scary Spice. Then you just start talking about how in love you are and how great your life together will be.

We here at CelebNewsWire are sensible folk, we floss every day and take our vitamins, so naturally we closely monitor Dutch television programs for breaking Hollywood news. And so does The New York Daily News, who bring us this tale:

Appearing on a Dutch chat show this week, Eddie Murphy was asked if he was happy with Mel "since she's pregnant with your child."
"You're being presumptuous," Murphy shot back, "because we're not together anymore. And I don't know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn't jump to conclusions, sir."
Mel's rep didn't return our E-mailed request for a response, but chances are she's reeling. Two days ago, she was quoted as saying, "We're in love. Ö All [our] children have met and get on, too. Ö I can't wait to spend Christmas with him, and I can't wait to have this baby."

"In addition, sir, just because you see me in these X17 photos in direct proximity to Babyface's ex-wife Tracey Edmonds, you should not jump to the conclusion that I am tapping that ass, as the kids say. You can, however, jump to the conclusion that I am one sexy m.f. who will kick your damn ass if you don't get out of my face. Sir." Does this mean Tracey likes to party all the time?
