Diana Vreeland delivered an epic legacy. As the fashion editor of “Harper’s Bazaar,” editor-in-chief of Vogue, and doyenne of the Met’s Costume Institute, Vreeland reigned over the world of fashion for more than 50 years.

Defying trends in modeling to give Twiggy her break, Vreeland was also an advisor to fashion icon Jackie O and delivered quotable nuggets such as “The bikini is the biggest thing since the atom bomb.”

Just as current “Vogue” editor Anna Wintour found herself front and center for “The September Issue” documentary, returning a lens on the workings of Vreeland will no doubt thrill contemporary fashion critics and connoisseurs. “Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has to Travel” is being released into theaters on September 21, 2012.
